submitted by u/P76tR51ukdmg to s/til-posting.bso

It's called the Cerne Abbas Giant, located near the village of Cerne Abbas, in Dorset, England. Nobody knows who made it, when, or why, but the earliest known mention of it is in 1694. When scientists investigated it and ran their tests, they discovered the chalk used for it had been dug up at some point between 700AD - 1100AD.
